King Zoom and the Great Seal Pup Rescue
It is the last day of summer vacation for King Zoom and his two cousins. They are playing at a beach on Vancouver Island when they discover a lone harbour seal pup. King Zoom wonders where her mother is, and what if anything he can do to help.
After getting advice from the experts at the Island Wildlife Natural Care Center the rescue begins.
This colourful and richly illustrated book brings the story of King Zoom and the Great Seal Pup Rescue to life. The book ends with an educational section on harbour seals and a recipe for Mindful Muffins.
"The beauty of this story is in its true, gentle telling. There are many life lessons wrapped up in an accessible story for kids and adults alike — in BC and beyond — about what can happen when we approach others with kindness and compassion. King Zoom and the Great Seal Pup Rescue is an inspiration. Walters’ illustrations are vibrant and help bring this sweet story to life. Thank you for rescuing Garfunkel, and for sharing the journey with the rest of us! "— JS Nahani, writer and facilitator, Vancouver, BC
